  • Married for 27 years to Norma González, have two handsome young adults.

WHAT I STAND FOR

  • TRUST- Open communication between elected officials and the community.

  • EQUALITY-Everyone will receive the same treatment.

  • INTEGRITY-Doing what is right even if it is not popular.

  • COMMUNITY-We are all active participants of our community and should be included.

PLATFORM FOR CHANGE

  • TRUST-The community must trust its elected officials and ensure they are doing what is in the best interest of its citizens. 

  • TRANSPARENCY-The community must know about issues impacting the citizens of Anthony without reservations.

  • INTEGRITY-Honesty and strong moral principles instill in me.

  • ACCOUNTABILITY-Everyone is accountable and elected officials must be held to a superior standard of accountability because of the community we serve.

  • ACCESABILITY- Elected officials should be accessible by the public and listen to the community’s questions, comments, and concerns. 

     My name is Jaime González Castillo I was born and raised in Ejido Benito Juárez, Chihuahua, México. At the age of ten, my parents brought me to the United States of America.  They believed the United States was the land of opportunity for my siblings and me.  I have been residing in Anthony, New Mexico since August of 1977, and consider Anthony my home.

    I received my education from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  I hold an Associate of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and a Master of Arts in School Administration K-12 from NMSU.  These degrees opened opportunities for me in the educational arena as well as in society.   

​

    Currently, I am in my sixteenth year of teaching for the Gadsden Independent School District.  I am passionate about the teaching profession, student achievement, and more importantly for all my students to become productive citizens of society. I would like to continue to impact the community in a positive manner at both levels local and state.

​

    I am running for the office of Board of Trustee because I would like to impact the Anthony community in a positive way.  I will continue to listen to the citizens’ concerns about improving their living conditions. For instance, public roads/streets, underground sewerage system, economic development, and improving our local parks for our children and youth among others.    

​

    I humbly ask for your vote for the office of the Board of Trustees. It would be an honor for me to represent you at the city level and together we can accomplish much-needed change for the community of Anthony. Early voting starts on October 21st through November 4th, election day is November 7, 2023.

    Mi nombre es Jaime González Castillo, nacido y creado en Ejido Benito Juárez, Chihuahua, México. A la edad de diez años, mis padres me trajeron a los Estados Unidos de América. Creían que los Estados Unidos era el país de oportunidades, me enseñaron una buena ética de trabajo y hacer lo correcto. He estado viviendo en Anthony, Nuevo México desde agosto de 1977, y considero a Anthony mi hogar.

 

    Recibí mi educación de la Universidad Estatal de Nuevo México en Las Cruces. Tengo un título de Asociado en Artes, un Bachillerato en Educación Primaria y una Maestría en Administración Escolar K-12 de NMSU. Estos títulos me abrieron oportunidades tanto en el ámbito educativo como en la sociedad.

 

    Actualmente, estoy en mi decimosexto año de enseñanza “Maestro” para el Distrito Escolar Independiente de Gadsden. Me apasiona la profesión educativa, el rendimiento estudiantil y, lo más importante, que todos mis alumnos se conviertan en ciudadanos productivos de nuestra sociedad. Me gustaría continuar impactando a la comunidad de una manera positiva en ambos niveles, local y estatal.

 

    Me postulo para la junta directiva porque me gustaría tener un impacto positivo en la comunidad de Anthony y en el estado de Nuevo México. Continuaré escuchando las preocupaciones de nuestros ciudadanos sobre la mejora de sus condiciones de vida, por ejemplo, las calles y el alcantarillado público, desarrollo económico y mejoramiento de nuestros parques para nuestros niños y juventud entre otros.    

 

    Humildemente solicito su voto para la junta directiva. Sería un honor para mí representarlos en la ciudad de Anthony como miembro de la junta directiva.  Juntos podemos lograr el cambio tan necesario para nuestra gran ciudad de Anthony. Votación temprana empezará el 21 de octubre y terminará el 4 de noviembre, el día de la elección es el 7 de noviembre del 2023.
