City of Anthony City Manager Mario Juarez Infante resigns

Anthony, New Mexico –During last week's city council meeting, fellow council members voted in a unanimous vote to accept the resignation of it's City Manager-Mario Juarez-Infante after coming out of closed session to discuss his contract. Pursuant to his contract, City Manager Juarez-Infante is required to give City Trustees 21 days notice if he intends to resign. Juarez-Infante sent an email to the City Mayor intending to resign. Mr. Juarez-Infante's last day with the City of Anthony is April 09, 2024. The move comes after Juarez-Infante joins the Sunland Park based CRUA Board without City of Anthony Board Approval.

"The City of Anthony has seen an influx of injustices against its residents. If any sitting administrative member elects not to work for the people and abuse its power instead, I invite them to seek employment elsewhere" said Mayor Pro Tempore Gabriel I. Holguin.

Based on last night's vote, the City of Anthony will now initiate a plan to seek Juarez-Infante's successor.
