The Rio Grande Gazette reminds the City of Anthony voters that next Tuesday, Nov. 07, they will elect the two candidates, out of six running for city trustees, that receive the highest numbers of votes cast. Presently, the city has embarked on an ambitious comprehensive plan that is to be the best procedure of how to modernize its entire city. More than ever the city presently needs competent and qualified elected officials to guide the city in those ambitious goals.
The Gazette urges the Anthony, NM voters, to scrutinize each candidate’s qualification as well as their background to determine if they possess impeccable integrity and temperament to work together for the best interest of their constituents. Obviously, the city cannot afford to have trustees who keep fighting amongst themselves solely to gain influence over their fellow trustees or to promote their pet projects, which either way will only serve to distract the city from their continuous growth.
